As of August 2026: $109 a month for four 30-minute lessons, or $219 a month for four 60-minute lessons, plus a $30 non-refundable registration fee, billed on a 28-day auto-renew. That works out to about $27 per half hour, roughly $55 per hour, at three metro stores including 1585 S Colorado Blvd.
The honest strengths: real lesson rooms, evening hours, gear discounts while you're in the building, easy teacher swaps if the fit is wrong, and a roster that varies by store but includes genuinely credentialed players. Any Guitar Center manager would also tell you the 30-minute kid slot is their sweet spot, and they'd be right.
What to know before you sign: the curriculum is standardized, teachers are per-instrument so switching instruments means switching teachers, and the 28-day auto-renew keeps billing until you cancel it. Employee reviews on job boards commonly report low teacher pay, with roughly half of what you pay reaching the person teaching you. That's normal retail economics, not a scandal, but it's worth knowing where your money goes.

For a kid testing interest at the lowest cost with a human teacher, honestly yes. The fit question is what happens after the spark catches: standardized curriculum and per-instrument teachers serve some students fine and stall others.
Because the whole fee is the person teaching you, at your house, on your songs, and the same teacher stays with you from guitar to bass to drums to a recorded track. If that's not worth the difference to you, Guitar Center is a fine answer and I mean that.
