How kids' lessons workWhat lessons will do for you.
You'll make significant improvements in playing, enjoying, and understanding music, from chord charts and by ear. And you'll feel great about doing it, whether you play by yourself or for your friends. That's the promise I make every student.
How we get there is built around you. We work on real songs you're actually interested in, immediately. I bring in exercises only as far as they serve those songs. And you learn to move forward on your own: how to decipher the chords in a chart, and how to understand by ear what's going on. I don't teach sight-reading, and you won't need it.

Maybe you already know what you want from this: a song for somebody's wedding, playing with other people, an album of your own. If you can't name it yet, here's what students do with lessons. None of it is required, and playing at home for yourself is a complete destination.
It can be a Denver jam night, prepped ahead of time, with me there; a recorded track of you playing, made in Logic; playing for your family; or finishing a song of your own. The adults page walks through each one.
Your kid's first instrument.
Kids' lessons run 45 minutes, in your home, with a parent or guardian home during the lesson. Forty-five minutes is long enough to get somewhere real and short enough to end while it's still fun.
We start with music your kid actually likes, because your kid's interest is what keeps them playing, and I don't fight it. If your kid wants drums and you were hoping for piano, I teach both, and we can do both.
There are no forced recitals. When your kid is ready to play for someone, we build a low-pressure moment for it, with family first.

Siblings book back to back, one visit with a full 45 minutes each, at $125 a week for both.
Book your first lesson
Pick your lesson, lock a time, pay up front. It credits toward your first month, and if the first lesson isn't a fit, it's free. A text works too if you want to talk first.
First lesson
We play, we talk, and I map where you are and what you're into. You leave with something to work on that fits your hands and your goal.
A held weekly slot
The same day and the same hour every week, held for you. The weekly slot is what keeps people playing after the first month.
Founding rates, published.
For adults, $75 an hour in your home and $60 on Zoom, for my first 10 new students through December 31, 2026. Kids run 45 minutes in home at $60. Cancel with 24 hours' notice and the lesson credits forward in full. The whole grid is one page.
Fox Lessons is me, Daniel Fox.
I'm a working Denver musician. Bass is my main instrument, electric and upright, and I play around Denver constantly: a flamenco band that works regularly at Monarch Casino in Black Hawk, jazz groups from duo to quartet, and bands across funk, Americana, grunge, and jazz pop. Fox Lessons started when two Denver teachers I respect handed me their students. Both trusted me to teach their students.
